1970s Search / Topaz, Two-band Reunion, Mr. D's Bar and Grill, 5622 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN 55807, 8 PM - 10 PM.

Search, a rock band with horns, was formed in 1973 with seven guys from Duluth Central High School, covering tunes by Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, Grassroots, Ides of March, Crowe, JJ Jackson, LightHouse and Boz Scaggs. Search was a popular area band, playing high school dances, community club dances and teen dance hot spots. Topaz later formed with several former members from Search and covered later 1970s music including Earth, Wind & Fire, Boz Scaggs, George Benson, Con Funk Shun, Al Jarreau and many others.  Several members participate in both bands and a few have made in-roads into the music industry including teaching music to K-12 and college level students, production of the Garrison Keillor "Prairie Home Companion Show" and playing with David Sanborn and others.
